YukChat is currently in private testing. This policy will be reviewed before public release and updated when new services are introduced.
1. Information we collect
Account information
We collect your email address, authentication identifiers, display name, username, date of birth, profile information, interests, profile photo, and any optional details you provide. If you use Google Sign-In, we receive your basic Google profile and email address; we do not receive your Google password.
Content and communications
We process messages, community posts, Moments, comments, reactions, reports, photos, videos, voice messages, and album media you choose to upload.
Location information
With your permission, we collect device location to provide Nearby and location-relevant discovery. Exact coordinates are kept server-side. Other users receive approximate positions and distance information rather than your exact GPS location.
Technical information
We may collect device identifiers, push notification tokens, app version, language, operating system, timestamps, session activity, crash information, security events, and diagnostic logs.
2. How we use information
- Operate authentication, profiles, messaging, communities, Moments, albums, discovery, and nearby features.
- Recommend people and content based on preferences, interests, activity, and approximate location.
- Deliver messages, reactions, safety alerts, and optional push notifications.
- Detect spam, fraud, abuse, account compromise, and violations of our rules.
- Respond to support, privacy, safety, and legal requests.
- Maintain, debug, and improve YukChat.
3. Legal bases and choices
Depending on your location, processing may be based on providing the service you request, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing YukChat, or legal obligations. You may withdraw optional permissions such as location and notifications through Android settings. You can pause discoverability and location sharing through available in-app controls.
4. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by infrastructure and service providers that help us operate YukChat, including Supabase for authentication, databases, storage, realtime features and server functions; Google/Firebase for Google Sign-In and Android notifications; and ZeptoMail for transactional email. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect users and the service, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
5. Visibility to other users
Your public profile, selected profile details, interests, public album media, Moments, community participation, approximate distance, and online status may be visible according to your settings. Private messages are visible to conversation participants and may be reviewed when reported or when necessary to investigate abuse.
6. Retention
We retain account information while your account is active and for a limited period afterward when necessary for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or backup recovery. Location data is refreshed and expires according to product settings. Reports and enforcement records may be retained longer to prevent repeated abuse.
7. Security
We use encrypted network connections, access controls, database row-level security, restricted server credentials, and other safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Contact security@yukchat.fun if you believe your account or data is at risk.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection. You may also withdraw consent and complain to an applicable data-protection authority. Use our account deletion instructions or contact privacy@yukchat.fun.
9. Age requirement
YukChat is intended only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit minors to create accounts. Report a potentially underage account through the app or at safety@yukchat.fun.
10. International processing and changes
Information may be processed in countries other than your own, with safeguards appropriate to applicable law. We will post material policy changes here and provide additional notice when required.
